To do this your enemy has to have low life(usually in the red) and must have maxed out SP. Now attack the enemy. At first, your character will do their normal "first attack." If your enemy is smart enough though, it'll try to counter you. When you see this counter, immediately judge the timing and press circle. If timed right, you will breakthrough the counter and instantly kill the opponent. Earning you up to 2-3 times more exp than normal.
